As an undergraduate, Scott's studies emphasized the conception, design, and verification of digital electronic systems. In graduate school, he focused on communication theory, information theory, and gigahertz-frequency microwave amplifiers and related radio communications components. Specialties include web design, assembly language programming for multiple processor platforms, embedded C/C++ programming in real-time networking environments, and design of multi-gigabit -per-second optical-network transport-switch hardware. Employed for three years by Tellabs. He currently works as an independent engineering consultant and volunteer for QFG.
